CD Tower Repurpose

The DIY Showoff is having a Surprise Party today featuring home accents. I am off work all this week. So, I am able to play along too.

Master Bath After

Today the "feature" is home accents. I had this CD tower from my single days. It was more than enough to house my collection. When I married Cliff we merged CD collections and this little shelf nearly got sent to the Goodwill. Fortunately, I was able to repurpose it for our master bathroom.

Sometimes the easiest DIY project is simply looking at an old piece with new eyes!

By fitting this in the bathroom I was able to display lots of fun accents. It was perfect for extra hand towels. A painted pot held travel toiletries and fancy soaps. The little bowl held all my hair ties. The scale of this shelf was just right for my tiny bathroom. (Our sink is outside in the master, so this is a really tiny space.)

Recently, Cliff requisitioned the CD tower specifically for his collection of jazz CD's. So, another CD tower is on my garage sale/thrift store list. I see them fairly often, but am holding out for a pretty one at a pretty price.

Have you repurposed a CD tower? As more people get rid of the jewel cases and move their music to ipods these are in need of a new job.

That is a good idea. We donated our CD towers, I never have great ideas like this one!

Very clever idea.

Thanks for the visit and comment on the embroidery hoops; think of the possibilities, you can change the fabric with the seasons :)

I love finding a new purpose for something I already own - it's like getting something brand new! This was a great idea! Thanks for linking up your unique idea to the Show & Tell. It's a great reminder to give something a good long look before donating it. :)
