Happy Birthday America & A Gift For You

My creation

1. Happy Birthday Kids Scrap, 2. "Fun Time Freeway, 3. "Birthday Adult Paper", 4. Ice Cream Parlor, 5. American Greetins Wedding wrap, 6. Value Pack wrapper, 7. Laurel Brand All Occasion, 8. For Dear Baby

One of my LA 4th of July traditions is the 50% of sale at American Way Thrift in Burbank.

I got a bunch of stuff, but my favorite thing was this big bag of wrapping paper and gift bags. I scored! I made a flicker set to share all of the amazing vintage papers. Many were in their original wrappers.

I will spend time admiring these papers. Crafting wise I really have no use for them.

I am sure some of you have great ideas for vintage wrapping paper. What would you do with this?

Leave a comment and on Friday I will randomly pick someone to get an envelope of these papers! (Mind you most are just scraps.)

  2. Those are cute! I have a very small collection of vintage gift wrap...what I did was photocopy some and decoupage the images onto things...my daughters little table has the cutest little girls decoupaged onto them. I've even used contemporary giftwrap as decoupage if it is very pretty. A few months back I found vintage Strawberry Shortcake gift wrap & ribbon...since I don't have a connection to SS as a child I hope somewhere I can do a swap for someone who really does love her. That's what's so great about blogs.
It's funny that I was cleaning out my girls crayon box tonight and started thinking about your blog...lol...so I had to come visit again.

  3. I'd make tags out of them and note cards--but I like Tammy's idea for decopauging with the gift wrap. I have some vintage wrap I've been using for backdrops in my collage work. You never know when inspiration is going to hit--you'll find good uses of it if anyone can!

  6. I LOVE papers and cards with vintage graphics. i like to make color copies; made my own Christmas cards last year from great vintage cards. I also like the idea of using them as backing in a shadow box or small shelf. Please consider me entered for the giveaway!
